About The Artist
Elise is a young, upcoming Chinese-Indonesian artist who went to Australia to study fine art. She grew up surrounded by artworks that constantly made her feel inspired. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be an artist who creates wonderful art that holds meaning and depth in each stroke and each piece. She has always wanted to mix beauty with history and her identity. Being able to create something meaningful in a single object, without using words, and still make it beautiful is something she has always dreamed of.

The Art
Identity, history, culture, and emotion are some of the key themes Elise wants to portray in her art. She creates work about her culture to share the richness of her Indonesian background. Her art also reflects her life living away from her family, and how it feels to be in a foreign country without knowing anyone and having to build everything from the ground up again. Being away from the family she holds so dearly is one of the topics she loves to explore. The things her parents have taught her over the years, and the moments they have shared together, are always on her mind and influence her everyday life and artistic practice.
